Bruneck: Fun not only during the day!
Do you wish to pay the world of glaciers atop the higher reaches of the Alps or the Bleiche Dolomiten ('Pale Dolomites') a visit or to go skiing at the Kronplatz and possibly combine this with a round of shopping in one of the most beautiful shopping lanes in the whole of South Tyrol? Then you are welcome to one the charming hotels in Bruneck in South Tyrol!

Here you can find enjoyment all around the year: Either by contentedly sipping on a luscious cup of cappuccino in summer or a mulled claret at the Christmas market during a pleasant winter vacation.
The little town with its approximately 15.000 inhabitants together with the constituencies Bruneck, Reischach, St.Georgen, Stegen, Aufhofen, Dietenheim, Percha, Luns and Amaten faces the Gader Valley and the Dolomites in the south. In the north the Ahrn Valley (Ahrntal) almost reaches as far as to the glaciers of the Alps (Zillertaler Alpen).
Christmas Markets in Bruneck
If you want to spend a special Christmas you have to visit the Christmas Market of Bruneck from November to January. Here you can buy works of local art and taste the dishes of the area listening to the songs of Christmas.
Skiing on the Kronplatz
You can also easily reach the Kronplatz which is one of the most famous skiing resorts of the whole of South Tyrol either on foot (setting off at Reischach) or by bus (heading out from a hotel in Bruneck). What else would a passionate skier's heart long, but for unlimited access to slopes stretching over several hundreds of miles, splendid snow conditions, cosy ski huts and modern ski-lift facilities?
But South Tyrol is by no means only attracting in winter: You will find a great deal of opportunities to enjoy yourself also in summer, such as first-rate hiking trails through green fields or moss coverings. The peak of the Kronplatz in particular, will grant you a spectacular view over the bordering villages and valleys.
There is no kind of sports that you would not find in Bruneck, so you can be assured that you will never feel bored in Bruneck. You can either go and play golf or go fishing at the river Ahr.
Don't forget the culture
If you, however, happen to be more into culture, then you can 'travel through time' in the museum of history and culture in Dietenheim: By walking through original buildings, you can vividly imagine how it would be, to for example, drive about in a horse carriage. Things still get an even more authentic touch, when you not only breathe in the scent of freshly mown hay, but also actually get a chance to really handle the genuine tools and equipment from past centuries.
You can also walk up to the castle of Bruneck that was built during the reign of Count Bruno von Wullenstätten in 1250 and which has also become a cornerstone of the city itself. In the local museum people will gladly provide you with facts about famous personalities, such as Michael and Simon Pacher and their late-gothic art work. There are plenty of other ways by which you can acquire information: Either by strolling about the alleyways to marvel at the picturesque mansions or simply by letting your thoughts settle on the impressions you gain of your scenic surroundings, whilst enjoying a refreshing glass of wine in summer or a warming hot chocolate in winter.
