The wonderful Eggental!
The route from Kardaun to Bozen is connected by a narrow gorge that almost seems like a rocky shaft. The high rising rock faces show the cubes of the famous Porphyrs which sometimes blocks the pathway in winter, but the challenging tour is indeed worthwhile:
Endless meadows and fields strech between and connect the settlements Gummer, Steinegg, Birchabruck, Deutschnofen, Welschnofen, as well as Obereggen. The Eggen Valley in South Tyrol is a sporting paradise par excellence: Snowy winters and splendid summers attract a large number of guests to the place. Especially Obereggen with its renowned skiing resort is well worth a visit. You will find any kind of accommodation in Eggen Valley, be it a luxurious hotel or a traditionally cosy family-run guesthouse. There is also plenty of opportunity to get some exercise: cross-country skiing, tobogganing, Nordic Walking, riding, swimming… You will certainly find an activity to your liking in Eggental!
