Gais is situated at the beginning of the Tauferer Ahrntal Valley in the Kronplatz holiday area in South Tyrol. We recommend walking tours to the ruin of Kehlburg Castle and to the rural villages of Tesselberg and Uttenheim.
Bruneck is near too and an ideal place for a shopping and sightseeing tour. Setting out from Gais you can explore the whole Tauferer Ahrntal Valley, the Pustertal Valley and even reach Lienz in Austria on your mountain bike.
In winter the skiing resorts of Kronplatz, Speikboden and Klausberg are ideal places to spend some adventurous skiing days in South Tyrol.
