Right in the middle of the village the impressive well-preserved Kastelbell Castle reaches into the sky. The castle is situated on a mighty rock and it seems as if it touched the sky. You can get to the castle directly from Kastelbell or take a marvellous water path along the sunny Mount Sonnenberg. Many water paths in the Vinschgau Valley lead right across chestnut forests and beautiful vineyards on sun-drenched mountain slopes. They are perfect for doing Nordic walking tours or hiking excursions even all the way down to Meran. For mountain bikers the Vinschgay Valley offers 150 km of cycling tracks. They run through beautiful apple orchards which are the ideal choice for exploring the valley at our own pace. In spring you can enjoy a sea of blossoming apple trees; in autumn you are just right for the harvest season with all its treats and beautiful colours. There are a number of skiing resorts nearby. Even in summer you can ski on the glaciers in the “Schnalstal” Valley. The Schnalstal skiing resort is one of the most popular skiing resort in the Vinschgau Valley all year round.
