Leisure time in Kastelruth - Seis am Schlern
Magnificent fields of flowers and wide spreading forests are more than inviting for a long walk. Mount Schlern and the Rosengarten – two of the more pale looking mountains of the Dolomites – however offer some of the most superb climbing and hiking routes with varying degrees of difficulty ranging from absolute beginner to freestyle expert. The nearby Seiser mountain pasture (Europe’s largest mountain pasture) is a welcoming and exceptionally pleasant place to find some rest or refreshment. In winter the area becomes a vast skiing resort with well-prepared slopes, cosy huts and exhilarating skiing activities, such as snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoe hiking, ski touring… In short: everybody will definitely find something or the other to his or her liking. But also culturally Kastelruth has a great deal to offer (apart from the folk music of course!): You can follow the ride of the famous minstrel Oswald von Wolkenstein through a medieval park, listen to a concert by local musicians and should your interests still exceed the offer, you can easily get to Bozen – the capital of South Tyrol. But then, why would one want to step down and leave from this lofty place with its tremendous panorama and fresh breezes of fresh mountain air around your hotel in Kastelruth? In Kastelruth in South Tyrol you will surely find all the peace and quiet that you may desire!
