On an area of about twelve miles stretching from the seat of the bishopric in Brixen to the Peitlerscharte is one of the last and therefore most untouched and remote valleys in South Tyrol. The seven municipalities of Kreuz, Huben, Berg, Rungg, Flitt, Petschied and Dorf are home to only about 1500 people.
Peace and quiet alongside the most scenic landscape will make your holiday in Lüsen a very special experience. Above the numerous meadow plains and forests you will occasionally spot picturesque farm yards that make up this phantasmagorical scenery: wide-ranging meadow fields of flowers reaching to as far as your eyes can see and the impressive sight of the Peitlerkofel Mountain are indeed unforgettable sights. On the shadowy side of the valley you will detect close ranks of trees which undoubtedly also are contributing factors to the crystal clear air, making it a recreation area not only for relaxation or picking mushrooms, but also for skiing and various other winter sports.
In winter you also have the benefit of a very laidback and calm atmosphere on top of a tremendous panorama: The romantic picture of soft hills entirely covered in snow in contrast with the mighty Dolomites. Numerous cross-country and tobogganing slopes as well as combined slopes or snow tours will make your vacation a real adventure.
If you prefer a more relaxing way the through the day, then sitting on a nice and cosy bench round at a traditional stove and enjoying the comforting warmth of a glass of mulled claret whilst anticipating another wonderfully sunny day in Lüsen in South Tyrol should be to your liking!!
