The tower of the Chapel of St. Benedict majestically overlooks the area and also bears numerous precious frescoes from the Middle Ages of which some were only unearthed at the beginning of the last century. In the village of Mals in South Tyrol itself you will find the Tower of St. Martin which was built in an early Romanesque style and the Tower of St. John which stems from the same epoch. The tower of the Parish Church however is clearly distinct because of its round and sedate form.
