Enrosadire in Pedratsches
When you arrive in the Gadertal (Gader Valley) in the evening you will find that the Kreuzkofel has its very own way of welcoming guests to Pedratsches: It starts glowing in a lovingly red when the sun slowly descends behind the peak of the mighty mountain. This phenomena which locals describe as ‘Enrosadira’, also lends an almost magic atmosphere to the entire village.
Because of their calm and mighty presence, the mountains seem to spread a kind of placidity and quietness throughout the entire area which you come to feel even more strongly after a long day in winter. In winter the skiing resort of Alta Badia and Sellaronda is a true enticement.
Likewise in summer the sensation you get from climbing up a mountain peak on a steep rope route cannot be outdone. Overwhelmed with contentment on account of such an achievement, you are welcome to give yourself a treat in form of some local specialities, such as a sip of luscious wine or simply take a break in any of the cosy hotels in Pedraces in South Tyrol. If you wish to see some cultural heritage in the abouts, you may take a trip to see the Hl. Kreuz Kirche (Holy Cross Basilica) which used to be a pilgrimage church during the 15th century.
