Welcome to Prettau in the Tauferer Ahrntal Valley!
Prettau in the Tauferer Ahrntal Valley is the most northern village of South Tyrol and it is situated idyllically between glaciers and Alpine mountain pastures. Prettau has much to offer to mountaineers and hikers alike.
You can climb countless mountain peaks in the Zillertal Alps and in the Rieserferner Ahrn Nature Park and explore the extensive hiking network. Besides being a paradise for hikers and mountaineers, Prettau has a very interesting history as an important mining area in ancient Tyrol.
Parts of the ancient mines have been restructured and turned into a famous climate gallery with a joint exhibition area/gallery. Both can be visited and explored underground.
