Welcome to Prissian near Meran!
Prissian, located in the surroundings of Meran, is surely the South Tyrolean village with the most castles in its midst: Wehrburg Castle, Fahlburg and Katzenzungen Castle are situated in the middle of the village and invite you on a journey back to ancient times.
Wine connoisseurs will feel at home in Prissian, too. The famous 300-year-old “Versoaln” vine grape is grown near Katzenzungen Castle - it’s Europe’s oldest vine.
In autumn Prissian and its neighbouring villages Tisens and Nals celebrate an ancient harvest tradition called “Törggeln”. Then you can taste the new wine, fresh apples and roasted chestnuts in one of the many traditional rural guesthouses and inns. You will love this ancient harvest tradition!
