Apart from larch fields, linden trees and seas of flowers you will also detect quite a number of 18th century estates. There was a time when Ritten was only accessible by cable car from Bolzano, nowadays you can comfortably go there in your own vehicle and enjoy the breathtaking panorama as well as the fresh air. You will find both easy hiking routes and more difficult trekking and climbing routes anywhere in the abouts.
It is an ideal setting for relaxation and pleasurable activities. At any rate you should not give a tour to the Rittner Horn a miss, because from there you will have the most splendid view of the surroundings: to the east you will almost feel the presence of the Dolomites – this is how close they are. To the south the White and Black Horn pay their respects. Adjacent to them the Monte Baldo, the Brenta and Paganella tower high into the sky.
Last, but certainly not least – the world of glaciers in the north for which the area is so renowned: Cevedale and Ortler, as well as the Oetztaler, Stubaier und Zillertaler mountain range of the Alps. Where else, but in Ritten would it be possible to admire such a tremendous view? Still there is one more phenomenon that the place has to offer: the Rittner Earth Pyramids which almost look like a bizarre entanglement of nearly 160 feet tall pillars with a massively oversized stone on top. Come and discover Ritten in South Tyrol with all its comfort, its famous cuisine and its marvellous landscape which will make an unforgettable memory!
