Welcome to Rodeneck in Eisacktal Valley!
The passage leading from the Puster Valley to the Eisack Valley leads through Rodeneck in South Tyrol. High above on a strategically crucial position, Castle Rodeneck mightily towers with an awe inspiring air on a steep ledge.

It is one of the largest castle compounds in Northern Italy. Its main attraction is a cycle of frescoes depicting scenes from ‘Iwein’ in succession. A visit is certainly worthwhile if you happen to be interested in courtly life. Situated on a mountain face, the village Rodeneck is imbedded in green fields and forests.
With its church and numerous cosy inns, the place fits idyllically into the South Tyrolean setting. Many a walk or hike on various routes or trekking paths through the untouched natural world should be sufficient to make a memorable experience. You can walk up to the Pasture of Rodeneck and even further to the higher reaches or even the peaks of the Dolomites!
Winter in Rodeneck
In winter you will find yourself amidst the most fabulous skiing resort in the abouts: you can choose from racing down the slopes on the Kronplatz, Plose, Gitschberg or Jaufen. If you are not into Alpine skiing, then maybe ice-skating, cross-country-skiing snow shoe hiking, tobogganing or moonlight parties are more appealing to you.
