Holidays in the original Sarntal
The Sarntal (Sarn Valley) in South Tyrol is a totally different world! Following the road to the Sarntal, you first reach a deep canyon with wild cragged rocks and dizzying slopes. Therefore the road that runs through 24 tunnels is an adventure in itself.

However, when you have finally left the canyon behind you, the scenery opens up to a wide valley bottom covered in green grass and forests. The central village of the valley is Sarnthein. A walk through the village will give you the best impression of traditional South Tyrolean lifestyle. As Sarnthein is one of the most traditional valleys in the country, customs are doted on, as well as wearing the traditional costume.
It is also why you can still find professions here that have long been extinct everywhere else, such as ‘pinfeather embroiderers’ or basket weavers. Sarnthein also has special culinary delicacies to offer. The green valley is perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, mountain tours and sledding evenings, in the ski area Reinswald you can enjoy the fascinating view and the best slopes away from the masses. A trip to Sarnthein in South Tyrol is worth while in summer as in winter!
