Schluderns: holidays between nature and culture
Schluderns in South Tyrol lies at the exit of the Matscher Valley. Its characteristic landmark is Churburg (Chur Castle), however, before visiting this little jewel you should first explore the town. Apart from a very lovely church tower, the cosy village centre, traditional inns and nice bars are also enchanting.

A great many hiking paths through green meadows and forests as well as special points of interest surround Schluderns in South Tyrol. The impressive view of the Ortler range is visible from nearly every spot.
Churburg is one of the best preserved und most awe-inspiring residences in South Tyrol. Even though Chur Castle has been inhabited by the same family and therefore not all wings of the castle are open to the public, the guided tour through the richly painted loggia yard and up to the armoury is well worth while. There are no simple rows of weapons on display, but the full armour of the castle lords, just as they used to wear them. This very impressive tour resembles an art historic journey through the development of armour in the Middle Ages.
When you have seen everything on Churburg, come back to Schluderns and enjoy the wonderful mountain air, the calm and solitude, that are ever present here! A holiday in Schluderns in South Tyrol will restore you and recharge your energy reserves for your return to everyday life.
