St. Martin in Thurn: the home of Ladin culture
The villages St. Martin in Thurn, Untermoj und Campill in South Tyrol are located a bit off the places that are known for mass tourism. They are embedded in the heart of the Dolomites and a core to the remaining Ladin culture.

If you are interested in the Ladin civilisation then you have come to the right place: Visit the cultural institute ‘Micurà de Rü’ or go to see the Ladin museum ‘Ciastel de Tor’ both of which harbour great treasures of the Ladin language and culture.
St. Martin in Thurn also offers unique hiking trails, and options for excursions, such as the natural park in Puez / Geisler that aims at preserving endangered species and plants. In winter you can make your way there on skies, but if you are more into bobsledding, then you can try out the newly built toboggan run. Finally if you neither like alpine skiing, nor the bobsled, then there are plenty of slopes for cross-country skiing.
But one thing is for sure: any guest to St. Martin in Thurn will not only be pleased about the proximity of the skiing resorts of Kronplatz/Plan de Corones and Alta Badina, but also appreciate the welcoming atmosphere of this place and the kind hospitality of the people.
