The Tauferer Ahrntal, adjacent to the Pustertal, has managed to keep its originality and the harmony of the live in the mountains without giving up modern conveniences. A farm decorated with crimson geraniums, situated high up the mountain between scenting alpine herbs, has been there many centuries long. An abandoned mine serves now as a health-centre for allergic and asthmatic people. A school for bobbin lace tries to keep up the tradition.
Everywhere you go you will find tradition and ancient customs, but do not think the inhabitants were backwoodsmen: You can prove your courage not only by doing rafting and paragliding, there is also a fantastic climbing park; in the evening you can relax in the wellness-area of your hotel or enjoy the culinary delicacies of the modern alpine cooking and of course there is a lot more to explore.
