Again and again relicts of settlements from pre-Roman times are found in the abouts of Terenten of which you can catch a glimpse whilst on your way on one of the splendid hiking tracks around the village which is located at about 4000 feet above sea level. From here you can visit or explore pagan places of worship or embark on a geological trip to the Earth Pyramids of Terenten or simply roam through the widespread larch fields or climb in the Pfunderer moutnains.
During winter the place is mainly interesting for skiers who be fond of a rather remote spot and welcome the chance to get away from mass tourism and hectic life. Enjoy the peace and quiet in a snow covered landscape without giving cross-country skiing, riding on horseback, snowshoe-hiking and the like a miss.
Should you ever happen to feel bored or tired of sports, the bustling place of Bruneck is only a stone’s throw away from Terenten. There you can stroll over the Christmas market and refresh yourself with a glass of mulled claret or have a soothingly cool ice cream in one of the innumerable cafés in summer. If you prefer more orthodox recreation, then you are welcome to rest on the terrace of your hotel and start dreaming of your next holiday in Terenten in South Tyrol.
