Fascination Vinschgauer Oberland
The Vinschgauer Oberland in South Tyrol bows reverential to “King Ortler”, which is the highest mountain in Tyrol with its 3905 meters. But the glacier is not only admired because of its majestic height, but also because it is not easy to access.
There have been some tragedies on this mountain. Nevertheless: What could be any better than watching the massive snow mantle during the sunset or sunrise from as high up as possible? Do not miss this fantastic spectacle! But there are many other walking-tours to explore as well in the Vinschgauer Oberland, for example the “Waalwege”. You can also find excellent cycle paths and Nordic-walking tours.
Winter in Vinschgauer Oberland
In the winter the ski resort “Ortler Skiarena” has something to offer for really everybody (snowboarder, skier, sledder, snowshoe traveller …). Do not miss a trip to the sunken village of Graun! During the fifties, the entire village has been flooded, because a new dam was being built. Only the spire of the church can still be seen. Enjoy your stay in the Vinschgauer Oberland!
