Vöran in South Tyrol is famous for its marvellous panoramic view at an altitude of 1,200 m above sea level. In Vöran the artist Franz Messner has built a unique nature cinema, known as the “Knottnkino”. The “Knottkino”, which is situated on Mount Tschögglberg, is an open-air cinema. The surrounding nature is both the screen and the movie itself. Thus it changes according to the weather conditions, the time of the day and the seasons. To put it differently, nature itself becomes the movie director and the film in the “Knottnkino”.

In spring, summer and autumn Vöran is the ideal starting point for panoramic excursions to the “Knottnkino”, to Meran or to Hafling. In winter the skiing resort Meran 2000 in Falzeben is at close range.
