Wolkenstein in South Tyrol is a place where Italian tradition, Ladin customs and modern tourism meet. This amalgamation is typical for the region and provides great contentment. This arguably is the most significant characteristic of all places in South Tyrol, but especially so in Wolkenstein.
It is not only the magnificent landscape that attracts people, but in particular the Geislergruppe, Sellastock and Langkofel which are a real paradise for climbers, mountaineers and hikers. Trekking paths and tours with varying degrees of difficulty are a magnet for families as well as extreme climbers and sportsmen.
In winter you will find some of the best-known skiing resorts of Northern Italy: Seceda, Raschötz, Monte Pana and most famous Sellaronda. The area around Sella is also a paradise for cross-country skiing and tobogganing. There is hardly anyone who would not dream of racing down a slope in the Dolomites. Wolkenstein also is the centre of world famous art workers who produce celebrated carvings, such as exceptionally precious furniture, timber cradles, wood statues or figures which will make a wonderful memory of your stay here.
